Bringing the Message of Fatima to Alaska

The Fatima Center

This Easter Season The Fatima Center brought Our Lady’s Fatima Message to the Catholic faithful in Alaska. The event was initiated and organized by local volunteers in Anchorage, most of whom belong to a Rosary Men’s Group.

Despite traveling all over the world and preaching the Message of Fatima everywhere he could, our founder, Father Nicholas Gruner, never had the opportunity to make a presentation in Alaska. Thus, this was a first in our apostolate’s 46-year history. By God’s grace, Our Lady’s intercession, and your support, we will continue to spread Our Lady’s Message – the only solution for our times – everywhere we can!

I was privileged to give two presentations on Friday, April 19, and two more on Saturday, April 20. These talks covered the following major themes: [1] Marian Devotion Is Essential to Salvation, [2] Basics of the Fatima Message and What You Can Do, [3] Our Lady in God’s Divine Plan and Fatima in History, and [4] The First Saturday Devotion and Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

On both days we began these “micro-conferences” with the prayer of the Holy Rosary and concluded them with riveting Question and Answer sessions. The local volunteers provided refreshments to facilitate the social gatherings before and after the presentations. We also distributed our printed material and signed up attendees for our e-newsletters.

We have received some very positive feedback and expressions of gratitude from those in attendance. For example, one lady said that she had never worn the Brown Scapular despite some invitations, but after these talks, she was going to be invested and wear it faithfully. Others knew little (or nothing) about the First Saturday Devotion and said they would begin practicing that devotion with the next First Saturday. Many wanted to know what they could do to help spread the Message of Fatima and how they could best make an impact in their local communities. We spoke of the absolute importance of the Holy Rosary and of praying it together in groups and in public.

The Rosary Men’s Group in Anchorage has already organized such an activity. The 13th of every month, regardless of the weather (and it can be rather fierce in Alaska), they gather in public to pray the Holy Rosary. Each month they alter the location to make their witness visible in various areas of the city. What’s more, if you plot the location from month to month, they are intentionally selecting locations so as to form the Sign of the Holy Cross across the entire city. In this way, they also plead for God’s grace and mercy – through Our Lady’s intercession – upon their entire community. (For information about the monthly Alaska Men’s Rosary, please email [email protected] and you can be included in their mailing list.)

Mr. Rodríguez was also invited as a guest speaker on two podcast episodes of “Fatima in Alaska” and one podcast of “The Catholic Docs” program. These can be heard on X/Twitter and Rumble (links to these are below).

Nevertheless, our organization of these events faced some obstacles. We had hoped to expand our reach beyond Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula. This was not possible due to the devastating effects that Covid protocols had upon groups of faithful and some lingering illnesses. We also planned to present these talks in parishes, Catholic schools, and homeschool venues, and would’ve certainly increased our attendance and visibility. Yet despite our efforts and goodwill, doors initially opened to us were then closed shut.

Most likely, this being ‘cancelled’ has to do with our commitment to spreading the full Message of Fatima, which includes hard truths regarding controversial subjects. For example, Russia still needs to be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Third Secret has yet to be fully released, there is a grave crisis of apostasy within the hierarchy and membership of the Catholic Church, and we stand on the precipice of some very grave divine chastisements.

We, of course, rejoice in the face of such minor obstacles and little persecutions. They are a faithful reminder that Our Lord, the true Light which enlightens every man, is not known by the world, and His own receive Him not. Yet to those who do believe, who become members of His Mystical Body and embrace His Cross, He gives the power to be sons of God (cf. John 1:9-12). The same can be said of Our Lady and Her Message at Fatima. She brought us the true light, Her own Son. And to those who embrace devotion to Her Immaculate Heart – as God wills! – She promises salvation and places them as flowers adoring the celestial throne of God.

The Fatima Center and I wish to extend special thanks to the principal organizers and hosts of these events: Mr. Todd Lindley, Mr. Doug Smallwood, Deacon Dez, Dr. Cindy Martínez, and Scott Stansbury.

Mr. Todd Lindley spearheaded the micro-conferences in Alaska. He began to learn about the Message of Fatima during the Covid lockdown. Interestingly, he was living in Russia at that time, working in the oil and gas industry. Being unable to move about freely, he began to study the Faith and quickly discovered The Fatima Center online. Having lived in Russia with his family, Todd has gained some unique insights into the ‘errors of Russia’ and the Message of Fatima. For example, he is very concerned over the spread of these errors into every industry, including energy sources.

Consequently, Todd has become active in local politics and is running for office on a local utilities board. His primary aim is to help resist the communist-like policies threatening to place Alaska’s natural resources under tyrannical control. These disastrous policies are advanced under the false guise of the common good with positive sounding terms like “sustainable development.” In reality, they debilitate the economy (can even destroy it!) and lead to curtailing many freedoms men rightly enjoy. This environmental ideology (eco-tyranny) is in fact one of the ‘errors of Russia’ of which Our Lady warned. Please keep Todd and his effort to promote the Kingship of Christ in Alaska in your prayers!

Likewise, we want to thank all of our faithful supporters, because it is your regular donations and prayers which make all of these efforts possible. YOU TOO have helped The Fatima Center take the Message of Fatima to Alaska!

And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to His purpose, are called to be saints. -Romans 8:28
