Prayer to St. Gerard for a Good Confession

St. Gerard, patron of a Good Confession for souls overcome by fear and shame your prayers won courage to confess sins wilfully concealed from the minister of God. Help me too, to make a good Confession. Help me to know my sins. Obtain for me true sorrow for my sins, a firm purpose never to sin again. And when I kneel in the Confessional, be with me and help me to tell all my sins in spite of fear or shame. St. Gerard, in your hands I place this Confession. Be to me what you were to many another poor soul, “an angel of God sent to deliver me from hell.” Amen
